This place is just perfect! They maintain the holds really well and the facility itself is very clean. In addition, they frequently reset the walls to replace old climbs with new ones. They have a nice workout area as well for all your lifting needs!
Had a lot of fun by myself. Not crowded on a Wednesday morning in December. So many walls/routes to choose from. Can use real chalk (unlike my local indoor climbing gym, which only allows liquid chalk). All areas (including bathrooms/locker rooms) are very clean. Temperature just right inside. The holds feel good (not greasy). The routes are fun to climb and figure out—the grades seem to scale for both technique and strength rather than just strength/height. Wish I had more time here. Looking forward squeezing in another session here the next time I’m in SF.
Caveats: 5’0” petite climber. Experience: ~1.5 yrs @ average ~2 sessions per week.
Came here remembering that on Sundays they open till 7pm and as shown on their front door, but only to realised that it's closed. Failure to update their operating times only to find out on Google when I arrived. Saw 2 others came by also only to be greeted with a closed gym. Completely stupid and waste of time and money. Thanks for the inconvenience, and yet still want to increase monthly fees.
A good range of bouldering routes, and an adequately sized gym. Have been going here consistently for the better half of a year, and will continue :) People here are really friendly and will often cheer you on when doing difficult routes.
Lots of fun for even a beginner like me!
The staff was friendly as well and it was easy to try out even as a person not living in the states!
Was quite spent afterwards so definitely a good workout as well! ^^
Very cool and spacious bouldering gym. Love the fact that it's not that crowded as movement.
It's a bit far for people not living in sf though. Looking forward to the new site in south bay!
Would love more comfy seating downstairs, circuit grading, and better acoustics, but this gym has great terrain and the quality of route setting overall is very high.
big place for bouldering, $20 for a early day pass before 3 pm. Fair pricing. I went in the morning at nine o’clock on Friday, a little bit cold , around 20 ppl playing around. Routes are nice and different types of walls! i went to planet granite in FEB 2018 it was big enough for bouldering and top rope climbing , Big windows for A good views to the park and sea.
If you do both usually in your countries, I recommend planet granite, top rope climbing is very nice.
if u want to bouldering,I think both place still good!
